Pixel Art Graphics Assets/Sound Assets Recommendations

Trying to keep the post separate, for the sake of future searches and keeping things tidy. If I should combine with the previous post, please advise and I shall combine 🙂

Is there anyone out here in BASIC Engine land that makes pixel art or similar graphics assets for sale? If not, can anyone advise someone to knock out some retro style game images? I'm not looking to spend lots of money, but am willing to spend some dollars/pounds/euros. Similar for sound effects, specifically in Engine BASIC. There are tons of public domain MOD files that can be used for background music, but I have no clue as to sound effects.

The first use case I have in mind is for something like the Atari 2600 game Cosmic Ark. I reckon that for this, a standard pixel art version needn't be used, as something more modern looking would like nice...and have a decent pixelated look using SCREEN 14. The main ship, the Cosmic Ark, appears to be one third the wide of the screen - so 160 pixels wide. It may be better for the BE version to use a little more vertical room, so as to have something a little nicer looking? In any case, I will upload the PNG images I made in Piskel, when I get back to our east cabin in a few days, for pointers/recommendations for someone to make better images/critiques/etc.

The second use case is for a game similar to Star Raiders on the Atari 8 bit computers (the best computer game ever, IMO). I've made some sprite images in Piskel, they are located in my BASIC Engine Google Drive, link will be below this paragraph. I've downloaded tons of free assets from Itch, etc., but haven't found any that tickled my fancy in relation to Star Raiders, or in this case - Kozmick Raiders (named after a fictional cartoon character I designed in 1985, named Larry Koz Mick ). Suggestions/pointers/recommendations/critiques are very welcome!

There is a big community of pixel artists on Twitter. Some of them work to older retro limitations. Some work to the new Pico-8 fantasy console limitations. I have also considered getting someone to create some professional looking graphics for use with Engine BASIC.

Thank you, guys 🙂 Yes, I've used all the regular tile and sprite resources. I may look up some people of Fiverr. A modern take on the ark from Cosmic Ark is one of the main things I am after. There is supposed to be about 18"/45cm of snow tonight and tomorrow, so I should get the opportunity to work on some stuff. Even more so if I have to take the wife to work and end up in a hotel (it is about 40miles/65 kilometers to her work, with many, many thousands of feet of elevation changes between).

I still haven't given up on the idea of a native Engine BASIC NG version of a tile/sprite editor. Piskel has been working pretty nicely.
