I find it amazing how the language is still remembered and used so much. It’s a really nice and effective way to get into programming, even though BASIC is very different from any other modern programming language.
Kemeny and Kurtz later created True BASIC, based on SBASIC (Structured BASIC). I clearly think that direction is an ideal evolution of the language 😁
I hope BASIC (and specially ENGINE BASIC) can be as useful for people today as BASIC was for me as a kid.
