I stated playing around with my Basic Engine to begin getting a feel for it and discovered some interesting features in the PRINT statement that isn't covered in the Basic Reference. Having used several other incarnations of these type of computers , through my normal "let's see what it does" trial-and-error shakedown, I found that there are a number escapes sequence, such as \f, \b which control the text screen foreground and background colors. I decided to see what I could find in the Basic's source but, While I've done a ton of VBA programming in my work, I'm not all that versed in C so I kind of half see what might be there.
While I'll eventually figure it out... I learned to program in the 70's by reading discarded teletype printouts, and APL on college by hacking open the utilities, written in APL, that came with the system, and this certainly got me interested enough to picking C up again... that's going to take a while, so I'm wondering if there's more details about the Engine's Basic out there that I'm missing? While the reference on Basicengine.org is extremely helpful, it does seem a tad incomplete.
