I still dream of Engine BASIC running on the 400 or on this one. There’s now even a monitor. One can dream… 😝

That should work on the 400 as well.
Might want to wait until the next (Jan 5) build, though, there is still a fix for screen artifacts in the pipeline.

I would have gotten that out before Christmas, but I had to order an RPi4 first. (I'm not getting another 400, it's ridiculously expensive here.)
Then I had to order a cable. Because Micro HDMI. Of course.
Then the temp they hired to deliver packages for the holidays sat on the cable for a week.
Then my backup cable arrived from China (always need to have a plan B), and I got that thing out in half a day.

I just purchased a RPi 500 with monitor... 😁
As soon as I try BE on it, I'll post a video. Getting closer... 👍

It's here!
But not too happy with BE. I downloaded the image, flashed it to a card, and put it in, but didn't load BE. I also added "os_check=0" in the config.txt, because it was complaining that the system was not compatible with RPi 500, but it goes to a black screen and stays there. I guess I need to connect to it through USB using terminal to see what's going on. Will report later (today or next week, that I take a mini vacation). Close, but no cigar. 😝

Seems like the RPi 500 doesn't like BASIC Engine that much... 😝

I get constant XHC-CMD err: 4 type: 11 [01:00] 0.00 000000:02 errors.

But one of the messages that appears is:

The installed operating system (OS) does not indicate support for Raspberry Pi 5
Update the OS or set os_check=0 in config.txt to skip this check.

As said, I tried that, and only got a blank screen. Reading people with similar errors on the Octoprint forum (the only reference I found for these kind of errors) it seems that it's because it's not a specific build for a Raspberry 5? (500 in this case).

I don't know if there's anything more I can do. I hope it can be fixed. Cheers!

No serial data at all, with or without the os_check=0.
I saw a Failed to open device: 'sdcard' (cmd 371a0010 status 1fff0001) message.
And several other things, but never managed to load BE. ☹️
