Two of my boards hang when trying to list files on /flash.
One of them was previously working, another has never worked.
I’m guessing this is likely a hardware failure .. but how can I narrow down where the fault lies? Any ideas?

davegardnerisme What version of the firmware are you using? I remember having this same problem on version v0.88-alpha. I recommend version .678 on the nightly builds https://basicengine.org/git_builds/
If it's not that then I would start with rechecking solder joints. Sometimes holding down a component with a finger can help diagnose this, or of course resoldering. I would check the VS23 chip and the ESP8266 in this case. However something like a wrong value resistor\capacitor or a bridged solder point elsewhere could result in erratic behaviour.
